| The prophet Jeremiah sure did... after being put in the stocks for preaching what God revealed to him, he says he will never speak of God again... then he says...
Jeremiah 20:9
9 Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. (biblegateway.com - NKJV)
Jeremiah becomes so upset that he's being persecuted because of God that he says this after verse 9...
Jeremiah 20:14-18
14 Cursed be the day in which I was born! Let the day not be blessed in which my mother bore me! 15 Let the man be cursed Who brought news to my father, saying,
“ A male child has been born to you!” Making him very glad. 16 And let that man be like the cities Which the LORD overthrew, and did not relent; Let him hear the cry in the morning And the shouting at noon, 17 Because he did not kill me from the womb, That my mother might have been my grave, And her womb always enlarged with me. 18 Why did I come forth from the womb to see labor and sorrow, That my days should be consumed with shame? (biblegateway.com - NKJV)
I have 2 points I would like to make... Despair is a natural thing and is expected for us to go through... the second is that when we take our eyes off of God it is much easier to give into despair.. If a prophet that God called can fall into this, how much more should we expect this to happen to us when we take steps toward God??!! This shows that it's not always going to be easy to do what God has asked us to do... but "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." (Proverbs 27:17) My challenge for you is to encourage someone today who's having a hard time, you never know what a simple smile can do!!
| I thought this passage very interesting when I read it... it's pretty
amazing how the Old Testament and New Testament work together, and how
God uses ordinary people to proclaim His love for us....
Isaiah 55:6-11
6 Seek the LORD while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the LORD,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.
8 “ For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9 “ For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
I particulary like verse 7... God will forgive your sins
abundantly, through the blood of Jesus! The wages of sin is
death.. in order for sin to be punished, soemthing must be put to death
for it.. we all are faced with death, for we all have sinned..
This creates a huge problem, there is no way for anyone of us to not
sin at all... at some point in time it will happen... God sends
Jesus to a cross to save man from himself.. we used to have no way out,
but now we do through the suffering that Jesus did for us.. He paid our
penalty... it was something that we couldn't do.. He cancelled our
debt, if we put our trust in Him, but it was a necessary suffering, so
that we would have life!! Jesus talked about it a few times in
parables..
John 12:24
24 Most assuredly, I say to
you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains
alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
His death made it possible for us to have a new life, and we are
constantly invited to have a new life with Him.. He doesn't say it will
be easy, He warns that it will be difficult to follow Him, but in the
end it will all work out...

| Something God revealed to me in scripture quite awhile back jumped off the pages at me again the other day, when answering a question my brother had asked...
Genesiss 2:18-19 18 And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." 19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. (NKJV-bible gateway.com)
Genesis 1:26 26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
What we get from Genesis 1 and 2 is that God made humans and animals out of the dirt of the earth... I think this may very well be where they think that we all came from a common anscestor, because we were all made from dirt.. it's also interesting to note that ....
Genesis 2:15 15 Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.
The garden of Eden was God's special project, and He didn't form man out of the dirt from there, He formed man outside of it and then brought Him into it.. it brings up the question, was Eden really ever meant to be our official home?? I don't think so, I think it was a glimpse to us of how God wanted things to be, but losing it helps us realize that there's something better to strive for... Life was meant to be in peace, sin caused death, and changed the world, but I think it was God's plan for us... I've heard it said that a gift that's demanded is no gift at all, so if we continued in the state that Adam and Eve lived in, we would never have known anything except God... with everything becoming messed up, we were forced to put our faith in the unseen, making it a greater act of love!
So Eden is a promise of God's love and provision toward us.. I believe He made it, so that we could have something to compare heaven to, and we don't have to base our faith on something completely invisible.. through the bible, God has painted many pictures for us to see, Eden is one of them that screams there's more to life than this!! It also explains why there are all these different types of animals, and no trasitional species.. Genesis also shows God's special interest in man right from the begining...
Genesis 1:26
"Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
You can go to sea world, a circus, or pretty much anywhere and see this verse in action!! It's crazy that we don't believe that the bible is true when it proves that it's true over and over again!!
| The wifey and I read this last night, and it really convicted me....
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one![b] 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
I thought that this was pretty interesting and wondered how many times a day do I actually think about God?? It's a good scripture to help you keep your thought life in check... if you have scripture posted all over the place constantly reminding you about God, it would be pretty easy to think about Him a little more

These Dr.s go about showing plainly how the Bible truly makes sense, and how evolution makes no scientific sense... it's pretty cool to hear their arguments, and learn a little more of the science behind why evolutionists believe what they believe... Either case makes perfect sense, it all depends on how the interpret the facts... as a Christian, I base my opinion on the Bible, but not everyone thinks that the bible is true, and what this site helped me realize was to see how other people would view the facts from a different presupposition... it's all pretty cool stuff!! I learned a lot!!
